The Kuatuare tall, muscular, dark skinned humans. They are the sun kissed children of the great desert, descendants of the Children of the sun God Nuru. Known as the most formidable warriors of any land, they are hired as bodyguards and mercenaries all over the Mare’On. The many desert tribes and small kingdoms along the fertile areas of the Gretis River are not united unless an outside force invades.

Women of the Kuatu are as fierce warriors as the men, with some tribes and kingdoms flipping the traditional roles of who fights and who stays home, who rules and who serves. Ritual warfare between neighbors is a common custom with the spilling of blood serving as a right of the young to become adults, though surprisingly, killing in these ritual wars is frowned upon.
