Tagline: A Southern Noir Mystery

Normal Station is a noir mystery RPG set in the 1920s American South with thriller, horror, and magical realism elements.

Players experience the world through the eyes of Jeanne Charbonneau, a 19-year-old college student who has recently moved from her hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana to the small town of Normal Station on the edge of the burgeoning city of Memphis, Tennessee.

She must unravel the mystery as to why she was committed to a mental institution, the Wallace Sanitarium, and where her best friend Margarette Larsson has disappeared to. Throughout the game, as her new mutant powers awaken, she slowly comes to realize that she has been experimented on.

Navigating a mystical and dangerous world the player is joined on her quest by a varied cast of colorful characters. From the roguish veteran Mac Walton to the bumbling private eye Cuthbert Radclyff, many of the inhabitants of Normal Station are ready to help Jeanne in an instant, while others have more sinister motivations.

Using turn-based combat, level exploration, dialogues, a follower system, and a sneaking mechanic, Normal Station offers a variety of gameplay mechanics. Targeted at a Teen and above audience, the game will have some violence and drinking but toned down for this audience.

The music will be composed by a variety of Memphis-based artists, exemplifying the era and aesthetic of the Southern Noir genre of the 1920s. The art style also reflects this unique atmosphere, drawing the player into a world of mysticism and mystery with its retro vibes and splashes of color.

The current version of the game is being developed in RPG Maker MV game engine, but as we expand our team and improve development, we might switch to a more robust engine.
